Renovation Project of the Santa Casa de Cura Pd. Manoel Corrente

Although the elaboration of the project for the renovation of the Santa Casa building has been going on for more than 2 years, it was only in early 2021 that material for the work could come in, taking advantage of the flooding of the Igarapé, which allows the entry of larger canoes, and thanks to a financial contribution from the Foundation for the Healing Force of the Amazon (FHFA).

In addition to the benefit itself for Santa Casa, the renovation is important for the local economy, since a large number of workers are involved: canoeists, carpenters, bricklayers, cooks, etc. generating income for many families in the community.

Old Building

This is the old building, where it is already being renovated to serve the community.

The project

Although the elaboration of the project for the renovation of the Santa Casa building has been going on for more than 2 years, it was only in early 2021 that material for the work could begin, taking advantage of the flooding of the Igarapé, which allows the entry of larger canoes, and thanks to a financial contribution from the Foundation for the Healing Force of the Amazon (FHFA). By the end of April it was possible to place most of the necessary inputs.

The new water tanks shipyard is now ready and the work on the external bathrooms is underway, which will also serve the spiritual work of the church that has been taking place in Terreiro da Santa Casa, among other community events.

At this time, it was also necessary to replace the roof of the kitchen and the cafeteria, which was not included in the original project, but was totally deteriorated.

In addition to the benefit itself for Santa Casa, the work is important for the local economy, since a large number of workers are involved: canoeists, carpenters, bricklayers, cooks, etc. generating income for many families in the community.
